Hey Pollycrafters...

Long time no see eh?

I'm not usually one for sharing personal information, but you lovely crafters are so caring and supportive, and I've had so many lovely emails asking if I'm okay... its been really overwhelming!

Things have been difficult at home for a while, mainly between me and hubby, but also other stuff too...

life really got on top of us all...

BUT...these things are sent to try us, and fingers crossed things are sorting themselves out...

I've been letting Pollycraft slide for a while, and there are alot of things I've become unhappy with, and alot of things that were rushed, and not thought through...

SO, I'm going to be spending the next couple of months tidying up...restructuring...researching... and of course doodling so that I can be happy with what I'm offering you again!

this will mean alot of things will be discontinued, BUT this will also mean lots of NEW stuff...

I don't want to share too much too soon.... but I hope things will be EXCITING!!

There will be changes to the blogs too... but we are still discussing things behind the scenes, so thats another post for another day...

Pollycraft Monday Challenge, use felt... and Blog Hop winners

Today Jane has set us a new challenge over at the challenge blog

use felt

Nice and easy!

Heres what I made...

I've used the BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Luna Bitterfrost - Hearts Rock...

You can grab her right now over in the shop along with lots of other New Releases!!!

I made a Queen of Hearts playing card to mount her on, and then an ace of spades to slot behind...

The papers are MME and Echo park

The felt is a handcut circle, with a bit of hand stitching, I added a paper rose to the centre...

From this is attached a bit of silver chain, with a crown charm

(this charm will be available in the shop VERY soon!!)

I added a 'Crown' type shape at the top using part of a nestie... a heart button, a pearl pin, and a bit more stitching....

The seniment has been created using 'bits' of different sets...

ribbon is from stash....

I hope you like it!!

I'm the last stop on the hop!.... and the last preview you'll see is:

Luna Bitterfrost - Skulls Rock...

and heres what I've made with her....

She's been coloured with promarkers...
I created the skull paper by cropping down the Luna image to just the skull on her t-shirt, then copied and rotated it several times, and printed onto Kraft.
The other papers are MME and Prima.
I handcut a heart from the red spotty paper, and crackle glazed it, not too clear on the piccy though...sorry!!
I also handcut the 'rock' from striped paper...
The 'you' is from the greeting farm spotlight kit, I only stamped part of the sentiment.
To finish I've just added some flowers from my stash, some doodling and some enamel accents...
The skull was a charm that I cut the hanging bit off...

Pollycraft Challenge 106 'distressing'

Good moaning... (went a bit 'allo allo' there!)

Hope you've all had a good weekend? I think I blinked and missed it... I'm still convinced its not really Monday!

Well... today we have a new challenge for you over at the Pollycraft challenge...

Maria has chosen....

Distressing!

let me tell ya! I think I could have posted ANYTHING and qualified for this, as it definately caused me some distress!!!

I'm just not good at distressing!! and thats the end of it!

So, after a Sonny card, and a rocking horse card.... (which both went in the bin)

I ended up with a robot card...

(and YES!!! the edges ARE distressed!! just not much ;))

This fella is Tin rose... from the critters and cogs range....

I've coloured him with promarkers...

The papers are DCWV and (?)

I've added a little heart button to his chest, just cos, I felt the card needed something!

I tucked two stamped brackets behind the circle to add a bit of interest...

(this is from the greeting farm spotlight set)

The sentiment has been created using 2 different stamps

(only stamping individual words, to create a different sentiment... LOVE this!)

the 'Love' is from the Critters and Cogs set.. and the 'you' is from the greeting farm spotlight set...

Some enamel accents, a bit of fabric and doodling.... and thats it!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge Recycling!

Good Morning Pollycrafters!

Hope you all had a good weekend??

It was a quiet one here, Hubby has been working, and my (not so) little man has been either making snails do skateboarding stunts, or creating water filtration systems in the back garden...

(don't ask!)

So... its Monday so its time for a new pollycraft challenge!

its the lovely Emmas turn this week, and she's decided on...

RECYCLING!!

its a fun one this... its fab looking at things in a different way... I'm pretty much like this all the time anyway!

I SAVE EVERYTHING...

I have a cupboard in my craft room FULL of old clothes, scrap cardboard... and all sorts of junk... lol!

anyway, I'm waffling...

Heres my card...

I'm really into making shaped cards lately... The truth is I'm out of large Square card blanks, and I have trouble fitting everyhting I want to on smaller ones... But I find if you make the shape interesting, you can add less detail... (does that make sense?)

Anyway, this is bascically a circle, and lots of small semi circles...

I havent used ANY DIGITAL STAMPS for this one... I dug out my rubber!!

I've used Sonny Honeycloud - Rainy days... I wanted to use the Stamp version so it was easier to paper piece the umbrella...

The papers are pink paisley bayberry cottage, and DCWV rockstar, i've just cut strips and alternated them...

The shiny 'fabulous' is cut from the same DCWV paper...

For the sentiment I've used the 'you make' from one of the Critters and Cogs setiment set,

and the 'every day' from the sonny says sentiment set....

I love just stamping part sentiments and mixing them up to create new greetings!!!

My recycled elements are:

a magnetic fastener from an old bag...

a yo yo flower mae of cord from old trousers

mesh from a belt tie thingy on an old top

and some ric rac which was wrapped around a birthday gift...

to finish I've just added a few raindrops, and gems...

How are you all today?

I'm a bit sleepy... blimey it was HOT last night, I just couldn't get comfortable...

I'd left the fan downstairs in my craft room, Yeah, you guessed it, I was too lazy to go and fetch it!

well, I would have got even warmer if I'd walked!

Okay, so its Monday, so that means another Pollycraft Challenge...

And this time I've given you a sketch to play with...

This is quite girly and flowery for me... which as I'm sure you'll be aware is unusual!

I quite like it though!

I'm really sorry I've had to post this so late...

it really has been an agonising decision...

and even when we thought we had made a decision there were a few last minute hiccups!

There were SO many amazing crafters to choose from, and if I could have a 60 strong DT I would...

Its horrible to have to say no to people, and believe me, I have had sleepless nights over this!!

Pollycraft Challenge #96 Love and Marriage... and new releases!!

Good morning!!!...long time no type!

its been all go in our house this last week or so, as we are replacing our kitchen...

its been a 'challenge' shall we say?

Me and hubby have fallen out on numerous occasions...but fingers crossed we are almost done!! phew!!

its been tricky to do any crafting, as alot of the stuff from the kitchen has been stored in my craft room, but I've managed to throw this together...

OMG... its ages since I posted!

Well, The Lovely Sheena set a FAB new challenge yesterday (yes I'm late) over on the challenge blog...

now I have to admit, I hadn't got a clue what this was all about at first.... but its really straightforward!

and use those embellishments on your project...

I've had a facelift!....

WOW its been a while eh?

let me explain my absence....

Firstly we went away on our hols... 10 days in France, which was lovely!!!

weather was glorious, and it was a lovely break....

BUT...

since we've been home I've been feeling awful!... thought I was starting to feel better at the weekend, but then my Son came down with a virus, and has passed it on to me!....

So thats why I've not been around much, and things have been a bit quiet in the Pollycraft world...

Have had this card made for a few days, but havent felt up to photographing it....

Emmas Dad, Ronnie, Tragically lost his life in September 2009 after a head injury caused by an accident at work.

In Ronnies memory, Emma and her family have been raising much needed funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance who transferred him to the Hull Royal Infirmary.

In the last year, Emma, with the help of the wonderful crafting community, has raised a MASSIVE £855 for this wonderful cause... I want to help her reach her £1000 target!!

A year ago, I designed 'Relaxing Ronnie' ....and while he was available in the store,

he raised a FAB £234

I removed him from the store when Emma set up her shop, and she added him there... and he's raised more funds since!!!

Hope its nice and sunny where you are??? its looking promising again here...

Over at the Pollycraft Challenge, the lovely Sandra is our host... and the challenge she has set for us this week is: EASTER

Nice timing wouldn't you say???

Heres my creation....

This card actually came together quite quickly...

The 3 I discarded before this one happened... didn't!!!

The Digi I've used is from last years 'Spring things' range... Eggcellent for sharing

I've coloured with promarkers..

The papers are a mix of scraps...

I've hand drawn the letters onto a mix of papers, and hand cut...

I've made the little flowers using a punch and added gems to the centres...

ribbon is from stash...

In other news....

Theres a new kid on the Pollycraft block...

Meet Chester...

The idea for a monkey Character came from the lovely Jane... but he took some time to come to life, as I wanted to steer clear of the obvious swinging from trees, holding a banana type images...

The first Chester was the one with the heart... and then thanks to all the DIY my hubby has been 'attempting' lately I had the idea of giving Chester a hammer... which turned into a larger than life hammer!!

A few suggestions from my lovely DT and a few more from my own little bonce.... and Chester was given more larger than life accessories...

Pollycraft Monday Challenge #84 - Teens!

Goooooooood Morning.... and Happy Monday to you all...

Hope everyone had a good weekend?

its been a quiet one here, but boy did it speed by...

Monday means challenge day over at Pollycraft and this week its the lovely Sheenas turn to set the theme for us....

I think you'll like this one ALOT more than my tricky one last week!!

TEENS

I think cards for Teenagers are the MOST fun to make!! trouble is its a couple of years before I really need to make any!!

Heres my creation for this week... which could really be used for an adult too...

I've used Sonny Honeycloud - My way... she is SO cool with her unique style...

she doesn't care what anyone thinks, and just does it 'her way'...

PERFECT for a teenager then!

I printed her slightly larger so that I could just use her top half...

And coloured her with promarkers...

I've roughly cut her out, and mounted her onto some white textured card, cut with my oval nesties

The papers are ALLSORTS... I've been really good trying to use up off cuts...

the die cut letters are from a crate paper set, they weren't quite the right colour, so I coloured them with promarkers...

to finish I've added a few flowers, buttons, brads and gems from my stash, and doodled the edges....

Today its my turn to set the challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge...

I wanted to get you thinking this week....

my theme is:

'Fly me to the moon'

there really are SO many ways to play this one, if you really think about it...

think 'space'.... 'the moon'.... 'flight'....have fun with it...

Heres what I came up with...

I used Burt the Owl,and removed his branch (it didnt hurt him!! honest!)

I created a moon for him to sit on...(so even if you havent got any images that 'fit' you can make them work!)

The moon has been crackle glazed, but its quite subtle, as I don't think I added enough... Can't get it to show on a piccy!

The paper is digital, from a cherry on top, and I added the text in my graphics program before printing...

The swirls were stamped using an accessory stamp that came with a whimsy carousel horse stamp.

Then I just added a few red heart buttons as finishing touches!!

The sentiment worked in my head, but i'm not sure if it takes too much thinking about...?

it reads

I love you 'owl' the way to the moon and back...

I thought it was quite sweet!

I've just added this little lady to the shop....

Pollycraft Monday Challenge #82 3 Circles

Hi Everyone!!

Well... thats it for the 'monster madness' lol....

back to normality... whatever that is?!

The lovely Joanne has set us a new theme at the Pollycraft Challenge...

3 Circles

This idea worked MUCH better in my head...lol!!

Two of my 'circles' are the tree tops, and the third is a sentiment I created ...

I've coloured Clover -' I believe' and the trees from the 'love ...naturally' set with promarkers...

The sentiment is from the Sonny Says sentiment set...

I created the grassy 'hill' with canvas...

I attached a bit of lace across the bottom, and a flower from my stash...

bit of doodling, dash of glitter et voila!!

Critters And Cogs Week 'Featured Blogger' KATHY

Hi Everyone!!

Well, we are on the final day of my special Critters And Cogs week...

Today I'd like to share with you some AMAZING creations from another fabulous Blogger...

Kathy has THE most amazing imagination and the cards she's made with the critters and cogs are just BRILLIANT....

on this card I love the way she has merged several of the same image to look like a load of monsters rushing to get in to a party....

This next card is BRILLIANT.... firstly, check out the colouring on Fluffy... he looks FLUFFY!!! brilliant!

I love the sentiment, and the wired flowers are gorgeous!!

More than anything, I LOVE Kathy's ability to think 'outside the box' ...

WHO else would come up with using a Monster and a Robot on a wedding card????

How cool would this wedding be???

I ADORE this card... its just so kooky!! and look... a 'fluffy' fluffy again!!

'Critters And Cogs' week 'Featured Blogger' DEIRDRE

Hi again!!

Blimey! when I decided to do this Critters And Cogs Party, I didnt anticipate being sick, and having a busy week... I keep forgetting to post!!!

Today I'm featuring some cards from another 'featured blogger'

BUT before I introduce you, and show you some AWESOMENESS...

I need to clear up the little matter of the 'Guess the first critter I drew' competition from yesterday...

okay.... so for some reason almost everyone has gone for Fluffy!!!

Maybe its because once one person said it, the rest thought it must be right??? I don't know, but it wasn't Fluffy.... sorry!!!

All the original Critters and cogs were released at the exact same time, and I have never actually mentioned which I drew first, so it is purely guess work!!!

I've managed to get the dreaded flu, so didn't feel up to posting yesterday :(

So, i'm now a day behind with my Critters and Cogs posts...

Today I'll be sharing some GORGEOUS creations from My GORGEOUS Design Team...

Today I'm featuring cards from the most recent DT girls... I say 'Recent'.... most of them started just before the release of the Critters and Cogs, so they have been with me for almost a year!!

The first one is from Marit, and it was her very first DT card featuring Cosmic

Janes first ever DT card was this shaped card using Made with Love

Sheena started off her DT position with these Snap cards (fab idea)

Pollycraft Challenge #81 Diamonds and Pearls

Goooooooooooooooood Morning!!

I hope everyone's had a lovely weekend???

My big, and little fella have both got 'man' flu (again!) so I've been kept busy...

This morning we have set a new challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge

and its:

'DIAMONDS AND PEARLS'

I just know you are all going to love it, and can't wait to see what you create!!

This card is a bit of a contrast to my current blog 'monster crazyness' ...lol!!

I really LOVE this card...(is that wrong??)

I gave it to my MIL who is feeling a bit down since she fractured her ankle...

I've had a bit of a play with Canvas... and have used it as a backing (ignore the dodgy wonkyness!), and made a couple of different flowers with it... I really love it, and will definately be doing this more!!

The DP is Pink Paisley

The Digi Stamp is Clover- Butterfly Wishes from the Lilybean fairies Range

I've added various Pearls, gems, flowers and buttons from my stash...

The sentiment stamp was a gift from my lovely friend Maria...

(I must remember to ask her the name of them!)

This was my hubby's Valentines card....

I've had a go at clean and simple...

I printed fluffy straight onto the card, and coloured him with promarkers...

most of the sentiments are from the Sentiment set... the 'Cuddle' is handwritten

couple of heart shaped gems... and thats it!!

This card is for my 'not so little' mans upcoming Birthday...

I'm so ahead this year!

I've used The NEW Jerry Kisses 'Tunes' image... coloured with promarkers

The papers are mostly DCWV Rockstar, with a little scrap of Pink Paisley thrown in...

not much more to it...

The little tabs are die cuts from the crate paper orbit kit

The sentiment is CC designs 'Amy r Summer Sentiments'

The '12' is printed, coloured with promarkers and hand cut.

Pollycraft Challenge #79 and New Releases!

Goooooooooooooood Morning!!

Happy Monday everyone...

I've got a little bit to share today, so grab a cuppa...

First up, its Marias turn to set us a challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge... and she has provided us with another fabulous sketch to work with...

We would also like to see you showing us some LURVE... as we have a love theme rolled in too!

Doesn't need to be a valentines card though...

Heres mine....

I've used Sonny Honeycloud Poetry...

She's been coloured with Promarkers....

I've cut away the part fence she was leaning on, and redrawn my own fence with a fineliner

The background has also been handrawn with a fineliner... and coloured with promarkers...

after colouring I realised the colours were too vibrant, so I went over the whole thing with a sandstone promarker (except the cloud)... which seemed to do the trick!!

I've cut the swirls using my new Marianne Creatable die...

The flowers were in my crimbo pressie from the lovely Lynsey as was the DP (pink paislee)...

The 'let your heart bloom' sentiment was my chrimbo pressie from the lovely Maria...(sorry, dont know the make)

Mounted on kraft card... added a few pearls and a bit of doodling...and thats about it!!

I've been inundated with requests for this gal!....

Sorry ladies... Maurice is OFF THE MARKET....

as you can see she's up for a giggle... check out 'Keep fit' Maud too...

And heres Cherry with 'just about the right size' easter egg.... yum!

This morning Lisa has set a new challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge...

I've gone with cold colours... and my Fav Cherry Kisses image 'remembering'

I figured her hat made her look like she was dressed for cold weather, and added some glitter to the tree to make it look frosty...

Goooooood Morning!! I'm BACK!!!

Anyone wonder where I'd been?? NO...

didnt think so...lol!

I've FINALLY manged to muster up a little bit of creativity, and have produced my first card in nearly 6 weeks!!

And its been made for our new challenge over at the Pollycraft Challenge...

This week its the lovely Sandras turn to choose our theme, and she has chosen:

Black/White and one other colour...

Fab!!

I've gone with Red

The little robotic fella on my card is a new image called 'Tin Rose'

You can get him in the shop NOW! along with 5 other Valentines images...

I've coloured him with Promarkers

How perfect is the robot paper??? I was searching for digi papers to match the image, and found these at 'acherryontop' I love 'em... there are lots of brightly coloured ones in the set too...

I made the cog myself using different circle punches...

and I used a stamp from the critters and cogs set, and curved it as I mounted it on the acrylic block so I could make it fit round the edge of the circle...(quite pleased with that bit!)

Happy New Year All!!!

I hope you've all had a wonderful time over the festive period!??!

Sorry I've not been around for such a long time, I've been taking some time out to enjoy my family over Christmas... trouble was I enjoyed it a bit too much, and didnt want to get back to work!

anyway, I've got quite alot to catch up on, so I've not had the chance to make a card for the new Pollycraft Challenge which has been set this morning by the lovely Kylie...

White Christmas, and a chance to be a Pollycraft Guest.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Is everyone almost ready for the big fella in the red suit???

I'm not!!! we have bought ONE present so far...

Hubby has a couple of days off after today, so HOPEFULLY we can get caught up!

The lovely Jane has set us a new challenge over on the challenge blog...

And its a F:A:B one!!

*White Christmas*

This time we would like to see your snowy creations, OR if you are feeling adventurous, lets see your all white cards!!

I went with all white....

I've used Cherry Kisses- Christmas Pudding, coloured with promarkers

The papers are actually off white, and are from the Crate paper orbit collection...

To add a bit of interest I've just cut out different layers with my nesties...and added some pearls and punched snowflakes

The sentiment is hand written...

This challenge is running for 1 month, which gives my fabulous DT a well earned Christmas break...

and gives all of you plenty of time to join in!
